Programma voor de internationale Open Hackerspace dag 28 maart

Ook dit jaar doet Space Leiden mee met de Open Hackerspace Dag 2026. Sinds 2012 is er ieder jaar open dag voor hackerspaces, eerst alleen in Nederland en de laatste paar jaar ook internationaal. De open dag is altijd de laatste zaterdag van maart, voor 2026 zal dit 28 maart zijn.

Hackerspaces zijn locaties waar mensen met een technische, creatieve en nieuwsgierige mindset bijeenkomen. Ze komen daar om te werken aan projecten, elkaar te ontmoeten en te praten over onderwerpen die hen interesseren.

Tijdens de open dag is het mogelijk om zelf te ontdekken wat een hackerspace inhoudt en te zien wat er allemaal mogelijk is. Tipje van de sluier? Iemands verbeeldingskracht is de meest beperkende factor!

Iedereen is welkom om een kijkje te komen nemen tijdens deze jaarlijks terugkerende open dag wij zullen open zijn van 10:00 tot 16:00. Voor meer informatie over de Hackerspaces die hieraan mee doen kijk op Hackerspaces.nl.

Op onze opendag doen we verschillende demonstraties en talks om te laten zien wat we hier allemaal doen.

Naast de demos is er tijdens de opendag ruimte om te komen werken aan eigen projecten of een keertje te kijken hoe de lasersnijder of 3D printer werkt. Wil je aan de slag met de CTF, de lasersnijder of een van de 3D printers? Neem vooral je eigen laptop mee!

Space Leiden is een hackerspace in Leiden. We zijn een plek waar iedereen kan werken, vergaderen, maken, onderzoeken of gewoon gezellig kan zijn. Met gereedschap, 3D printers, servers en meer. Apparatuur die te groot, te duur of te specialistisch is om thuis te hebben.

Momenteel zijn wij gevestigd in het gebouw van Stichting Technolab en MBO Rijnland, vlak achter Station Lammenschans. Onze locatie zit in de ruimte van Technolab Leiden boven de Plus (Bètaplein 28, Leiden). Als je voor de Plus staat en aan je linkerhand de trap op loopt dan zul je vanzelf de ingang zien. Normaliter zijn we iedere donderdag open tussen 19:00 en 22:30.

Onze doelgroep is voornamelijk gericht op 16+, ben je jonger dan dit en wil je graag komen? Dan vragen we je om een volwassen begeleider mee te nemen.

Programme for the International Open Hackerspace Day 28 March

This year, Space Leiden is also participating in the Open Hackerspace Day 2026. Since 2012, there has been an annual open day for hackerspaces, initially only in the Netherlands and in recent years also internationally. The open day is always the last Saturday of March; for 2026 this will be March 28th.

Hackerspaces are locations where people with a technical, creative and curious mindset come together. They come there to work on projects, meet each other and talk about topics that interest them.

During the open day, it’s possible to discover for yourself what a hackerspace entails and see what’s all possible. A sneak peek? Someone’s imagination is the most limiting factor!

Everyone is welcome to come take a look during this annually recurring open day - we will be open from 10:00 to 16:00. For more information about the hackerspaces participating in this, check out Hackerspaces.nl.

Besides the demos, there’s space during the open day to come work on your own projects or have a look at how the laser cutter or 3D printer works. Want to get started with the CTF, the laser cutter or one of the 3D printers? Be sure to bring your own laptop!

Space Leiden is a hackerspace in Leiden. We are a place where everyone can work, meet, make, research or just have a good time. With tools, 3D printers, servers and more. Equipment that’s too big, too expensive or too specialized to have at home.

Currently we are located in the building of Stichting Technolab and MBO Rijnland, right behind Station Lammenschans. Our location is in the space of Technolab Leiden above the Plus (Bètaplein 28, Leiden). If you’re standing in front of the Plus and walk up the stairs on your left, you’ll naturally see the entrance. Normally we are open every Thursday between 19:00 and 22:30.

Our target audience is primarily aimed at 16+, are you younger than this and would you like to come? Then we ask you to bring an adult supervisor.
